    The JPSS-2 customer provided commendations to the JPSS Flight Dynamics Analysis Team, for providing outstanding support to the JPSS Program and JPSS Flight Project during preparation leading up to the JPSS-2 launch, as well as the launch and orbit raising campaign. Their foresighted preparation for the launch campaign and quick response to questions during the campaign were huge contributing factors to the success of the JPSS-2 launch and orbit raising campaign.     NASA Team Award for Space Flight Awareness

    On Thursday, April 15th 2021, members of the GSFC FDF Flight Operations team were presented the Team Award for Space Flight Awareness. The award was given as recognition for all of the recent work, analysis, and development of launch abort scenarios that have helped enable the recent and future crewed missions to ensure safe operations during a launch anomaly. The selection committee deemed those efforts demonstrated exemplary teamwork while accomplishing a particular task or goal in support of the human space program. Congratulations to the entire team and our Omitron team members!

    The Omitron Military Division was recently awarded a Phase-II Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) grant from the United States Air Force (USAF).  Continuation of this effort into Phase-II will push this critical technology closer to implementation and deployment.  Omitron is pleased to be able to support the USAF mission through this SBIR and our other current contracts.     Omitron congratulates the Swift team for achieving 15 years of groundbreaking science in astrophysics.   • Raptor Goes Operational for TESS Mission at NASA

    On October 31st, 2019, Omitron supported the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) Flight Dynamics Facility (FDF) Navigation Operations team in executing NASA’s Transition Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) operations through the Raptor system. This marks the first time that the Raptor scripting services capability was used operationally to generate and deliver mission products.  Raptor is a cutting edge comprehensive flight dynamics system developed by the GSFC FDF under Omitron’s FDSS-II contract to improve automation, efficiency, and robustness of satellite mission operations. It is currently in use as the FDF operational tool for Tracking Data Evaluation.
