    NASA Team Award for Space Flight Awareness

    On Thursday, April 15th 2021, members of the GSFC FDF Flight Operations team were presented the Team Award for Space Flight Awareness. The award was given as recognition for all of the recent work, analysis, and development of launch abort scenarios that have helped enable the recent and future crewed missions to ensure safe operations during a launch anomaly. The selection committee deemed those efforts demonstrated exemplary teamwork while accomplishing a particular task or goal in support of the human space program. Congratulations to the entire team and our Omitron team members!

    Omitron Civil Space Programs appraised at CMMI Maturity Level 2

    Omitron, Inc. has been appraised at Maturity Level 2 of the CMMI Institute’s Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI)® for Development. The appraisal was performed by MOSAIC Technologies Group, Inc. CMMI® is a capability improvement approach that provides organizations with the essential elements of effective processes that ultimately improve their performance. An appraisal at Maturity Level 2 indicates the organization is performing at a “managed” level. At this level, projects have ensured that processes are planned, performed, measured, and controlled in accordance with policy and CMMI best practices.

    Omitron Wins the NASA Agency-Level 2017 Small Business Prime Contractor of the Year Award

    Omitron was selected as the NASA Agency-Level 2017 Small Business Prime Contractor of the Year for our support of the Flight Dynamics Support Services-II (FDSS-II) contract. The award was presented at the NASA Office of Small Business Programs Spring 2018 NASA Industry Forum meeting and presented by Krista Paquin, Acting Deputy Administrator, and Glenn Delgado, Associate Administrator Office of Small Business. Omitron is proud to be a member of the NASA Small Business Community and honored to receive this award. Congratulations to the Omitron FDSS-II team!

  • Omitron Wins the GSFC 2017 Small Business Prime Contractor of the Year Award

    Omitron has won a Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) Small Business Industry Awards (SBIA) in the category of Small Business Prime Contractor of the Year for 2017. Congratulations to our Omitron team for their commitment to “Ensure Mission Success” in supporting the FDSS-II program.

  • Omitron awarded subcontract for support under NOAA ProTech Satellite Domain Contract

    Omitron was awarded a subcontract under a Department of Commerce, NOAA ProTech Satellite Domain focused on technical and scientific support of the acquisition, deployment, and ground system development/monitoring of satellites under the Professional and Technical Support Services (PRO-TECH) program. NOAA awarded a total of 23 contracts under the ProTech Satellite Domain Multiple Award, IDIQ task order contract. The contracts support the full range of satellite activities which NOAA manages and the management of the environmental data for these missions.   • Omitron awarded subcontract to support Lockheed Martin on C2BMC

    Omitron was awarded a subcontract to support Lockheed Martin’s Command and Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) contract supporting the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). The initial effort is in support of restructuring the supporting IT infrastructure, however, with the subcontract vehicle in place opportunities for supporting more of the scientific and engineering activities are on the horizon.

  • IT Security and IT support Services

     Omitron awarded subcontract to provide IT Security and IT Support for NASA SCNS. Omitron was awarded a subcontract under the NASA SCNS contract to provide IT Security and IT Support at WSC, GSFC, and Wallops facilities. An initial task order was awarded to provide IT Security engineering support at WSC in Las Cruces, NM.

  • Omitron awarded task order to provide Astrodynamics and Space Situational Awareness (SSA) support to DARPA

    Omitron is a subcontractor to Pacifica Defense Solutions for the OrbitOutlook (O2) DARPA program that aims to improve the SSN by adding more data more often from more diverse sources to increase space situational awareness to determine when satellites are at risk. O2 comprises three elements: the inclusion of new telescopes and radar from diverse locations providing diverse data types; a central database for this newly extended network of telescopes and radar; and a validation process to ensure the data is accurate. O2 also seeks to demonstrate the ability to rapidly include new instruments to alert for indications and warnings

  • Omitron awarded subcontract on NASA ESES-II, initial task order for DSCOVR sustaining engineering

    Omitron was awarded a subcontract under the NASA ESES-II contract, with an initial task order to provide sustaining engineering and operations support for the joint NASA/NOAA DSCOVR mission. Omitron developed the DSCOVR Mission Operations Center (MOC) at the NOAA Satellite Operations Facility in Suitland, MD, and performed launch and commissioning operations and training of the NOAA operations staff. Following the transition of the DSCOVR mission operations from NASA to NOAA, Omitron continues to provide MOC sustaining engineering and operations support to the NOAA team.
